Editorial & Listing Guidelines

Our standards for curation, vetting, quality assurance, and transparency

1. Our Editorial Mission

At TheGreat4U, our mission is to build a reliable, high-value, and human-curated directory of modern software tools, web platforms, and digital services. We believe directory platforms should provide meaningful insight, structured summaries, and helpful categorization rather than auto-generated or superficial link lists.

2. The 5-Pillar Vetting Framework

Every tool and business submitted to or reviewed for TheGreat4U is evaluated across five fundamental criteria:

1. Authenticity & Active Operation

We verify that the service is operational, possesses a valid SSL certificate, active domain, working core features, and clear contact/support channels.

2. Real Value & Utility

The product must solve real user needs, whether in automation, design, development, marketing, data, or productivity, with demonstrable utility.

3. Clear Pricing & Transparency

We prioritize platforms with transparent pricing models (Free Tier, Open Source, Freemium, or clear Enterprise tiers) without hidden traps.

4. User Safety & Data Privacy

We screen platforms for responsible privacy policies, adherence to security best practices, and absence of deceptive practices or malware.

3. Content We Strictly Do Not List

To preserve catalog integrity, we reject submissions that involve:

  • Misleading, fraudulent, phishing, or deceptive software.
  • Low-quality spin sites or duplicate clones with no proprietary innovation.
  • Adult content, illegal goods, gambling, or hate speech.
  • Unmaintained or broken websites that produce server errors or broken links.
  • Platforms lacking transparent ownership or basic privacy disclosures.

4. Catalog Maintenance & Regular Audits

The software landscape evolves rapidly. Our editorial team routinely audits existing listings to verify active status, update screenshots and descriptions, reflect major version upgrades, and prune discontinued projects.

5. How to Submit a Listing for Review

Creators, development teams, and founders are invited to submit their projects for editorial consideration. All submissions undergo human review prior to publication.
